✒️ The term "African American flag" does not refer to an official national or state flag but is often associated with variations of the Pan-African flag, also known as the Black Liberation flag. This flag features three horizontal stripes of red, black, and green, designed by Marcus Garvey and adopted by the Universal Negro Improvement Association in 1920. The colors symbolize the blood shed by African ancestors (red), the African people (black), and the rich land of Africa (green). The Pan-African flag has become a powerful symbol of African American identity, unity, and pride
